An Encounter with History: The 98th Division (Institutional Training) and the Global War on Terrorism: 2001-2006, the official historical account of the Global War on Terrorism serves as a written and photographic record of the wartime operations and contributions of the 98th Division (IT), an Army Reserve unit located in the northeastern United States. This publication portrays the Warrior Ethos of America's citizen soldiers. During this time, the Division's soldiers served in the following locations: Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Task Force Olympic, Salt Lake City, Utah; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; the Horn of Africa; Afghanistan; Iraq; Kuwait and Jordan. |

Commissioned 2 nd Lt. of Artillery from St. Bonaventure University ROTC. Served on active duty 1952-1954. Korea 1953-1954. Reserve 1954-1987. Commander 98 th Division, 1982-1987. Achieved highest rank a Reservist could attain. Graduate Army War College, Harvard Executive Security Program and National War College Defense Strategy Program.
Awards: Distinguished Service Medal, highest peacetime award, Meritorious Service Medal w/oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, NYS Distinguished Service Medal.
